    Arrival in Bordeaux - transfer to Pauillac

    Bordeaux – Pauillac

    Arrival in Bordeaux during the day and transfer by cab to your accomodation in Pauillac. One of our representatives will meet you at your hotel to give your your travel book and bikes, if you have chosen to rent these from us.

    Overnight in Pauillac or Pian Médoc, subject to availability.

    Pauillac - Blaye

    Distance : ~60km

    Begin the day with a tour of the world-famous vineyards: Mouton Rothschild, Latour, Pontet Canet, Margaux… Then, cross the Gironde river by boat to Blaye, a town built by Vauban to protect the region.

    Blaye - Saint Emilion

    Distance : ~65km

    Today, you will explore a different wine region: the Blayais. Here, the wines are finer tannins than in the Médoc, and in Loupiac the aromatic white wines can be almost syrupy. Along your way visit charming small villages, such as Teuillac, Galgon and Pomerol before reaching Saint-Emilion.

    Loop around Saint Emilion

    Distance : ~48km

    Saint-Emilion is a medieval town in the heart of the vineyards. Perched on a limestone promontory, its authentic atmosphere and its panoramic view over the vineyards make it a must-see of your trip. Don’t forget to complement your visit with a wine tasting!

    Saint Emilion - Bordeaux

    After crossing the Dordogne and enjoying the  Entre-Deux-Mers vineyards, you will arrive in Bordeaux, the last city of your trip. The whole city has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, brimming with treasures in every street: from facades and fountains to statues… Don’t forget to take a last picture in front of the Garonne river before you leave.

THE VINEYARD

The Bordeaux vineyards offer a wide varieties of wines, from the most tannic to the sweetest. It includes several regions (Médoc, Blayais, Libournais, Entre-deux-Mers, Graves) and different appellations (Saint-Estephe, Pauillac, Margaux, Cerons, Barsac, Sauternais…).

There are numerous grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec for the reds and Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle for the white wines.
