Nowadays, the vast majority of Internet users are booking and organizing their trips online. The model of the travel agency on the corner selling show tickets, bus tickets or train tickets is disappearing. However, this doesn’t mean that every travel agency is going to vanish. The sector is constantly evolving. Professionals are adapting and reinventing themselves everyday, thanks to new technological tools and criterias increasingly imposed by the giant Google.
How does it work?
A travel agent can take various forms, including:
– A travel agency: Offers tourist services directly to travelers. It sells packages made by the agency itself or by tour operators. It can also provide independant and separate services such as plane ticket, bike rental, hotel bookings. An incominh travel agency focuses on a geographical area and welcomes tourists “on site”, whether they are from another country or another region.
– A tour operator: A tour operator gathers differents services to provide packages to its clients. The prices of these services are negociated with hotels, restaurants, tour guides, and others. These packages can be flexible and are sold through travel agencies. This is a B2B (business-to-business) model.
– Gift boxes sellers: This concept of selling mini packages (weekends) or single services at cut-rate prices is starting to lose momentum. Why? The purchase prices are heavily negociated with the tourist services to guarantee a high margin for the box creators (and cover their marketing costs). In the end, hotels and restaurants may feel exploited and only provide the bare minimum. This often leads to client dissatisfaction.
Online sellers: Often large travel agencies with various strategies and positioning such discount stays or platforms for booking activities and visits.
What about active tours ?
We are a bit of everything! We are small and independant. On a tourism scale, we can be seen as architects of active trips. We conceive, create and organize “turn-key” stays.
We are an incoming “micro”-travel agency. We welcome people from around the world who seek to discover the french way of living, our beautiful landscapes and our savoir-faire. We tailor trips to meet your desires.
We are a “micro” tour operator specializing in itinerant bike tours. We design pac We conceive packages based on close partnerships with hotels, restaurants and wineries that we have cultivated over the years. These packages are also marketed in other countries through small local agencies in Sweden, New Zealand and the US.
We are a “micro” creator of gift boxes, prioritizin collaboration with our suppliers. Each bike weekend or vineyard journey can be gifted as a voucher. Over the years, more and more of you have chosen to gift the authentic experience of a cycling holiday, rather than a colorful yet impersonal and ordinary “box”.
We are a “micro” online sales site offeriong cycling activities guided by our team. We are more than just an internet showcase. The pictures on our website have been taken by Florian, Guillaume, Ludovic and Catherine. While they may appear graphically imperfect, these photos are authentic!
We are personally present in our two agencies on your departure day. We welcome you either at our shop or directly at your hotel. We are delighted to offer you a glass of wine and have a chat with you. While biking, you will have access to an emergency phone number available 24/7, and one of us will respond to your call.
Our small size is our advantage.
Your tastes are off the beaten track? Nothing is impossible for us! We are flexible and always at your service. With our team and our network of contacts, we can offer you experiences that go beyond the packaged offerings found on travel platforms promising you the dream.
Our society is evolving along with travel and leasure habits. “Buy local” is one of the great trend of the moment. As discerning customers, we hope that you will choose also for your trips the “small local producers” rather than the “tourism large retailers”.
