Your itinerary

    Arrival in Epernay

    Arrival in Epernay, the capital of champagne. After the check-in at your accomodation, wander around the city, the “Avenue de Champagne”, and eat in one of the many restaurants.

    Marne Valley Loop

    Distance : ~40km

    You will begin your day with a small climb to Mardeuil, then you will cross the canal to Cumières and continue to Hautvillers, which is one of France’s most beautiful villages. Wander along the narrow paths leading from the forests to the vineyards. Then you will return to Epernay along the Corps Saint Canal and spend the night in your hotel.

    Côte des Blancs Loop

    Distance : ~40km

    Begin your day with a stroll down the prestigious Avenue de Champagne, where you will have the opportunity to admire the headquarters of the leading champagne producers. As you take in the sights, consider the astonishing fact that beneath your feet lie 200 million bottles of champagne waiting to be enjoyed. Then, you will head to Chouilly through the vineyards. Along the way, you will discover the famous chapel in the Moët vineyards. On your return journey you will climb  Mount Bernons (the town’s highest point, at 208m) to admire the view  over the vineyards and villages of the Montagne de Reims, including Hautvillers. Don’t miss the stunning view over Epernay, where you will be spending the night.

THE VINEYARD

The Champagne vineyards are  located in northeastern France, in the region Champagne-Ardenne, stretching over  34 000 hectares and comprising 319 towns.

The Champagne vineyards are divided into four 4 main areas:

  • Montagne de Reims: to the south of Reims, famous for its Chardonnay white wines.
  • Marne Valley: located to the south-west of Epernay,  known for its Pinot Noir red wines.
  • The Côte des Blancs: to the south-west of Reims,this region is famous for its Chardonnay white wines.
  • The Côte des Bar: located to the southeast of Epernay,  known for its Pinot Noir red wines.

OPTIONAL
