Bordeaux – Cadillac
Arrival in Bordeaux during the day and transfer by cab to your accommodation in Cadillac. Our representative will meet you at your hotel to give you your travel book and bikes, if you choose to rent with us.
This first day will give you the opportunity to discover the vineyards of Entre-deux-Mers, the largest wine-growing area of Bordeaux where a huge variety of wines, from reds to whites and rosés, are produced. Wander through the vines and, depending on the season, look at how the leaves and grapes growing. The perfect day to add a wine tasting to your program!
Overnight in Saint-Macaire or Langon, subject to accommodation availability.
Cross the tumultuous Gironde river to continue through the vineyards of the Graves appellation. The region takes its name from its particular geology – it is mostly composed of gravel. During the day the scenery will gradually change and you will see the first tall maritime pines of the Landes de Gascogne’s forest, the largest in Europe!
Dinner and overnight in a B&B in Saint Symphorien or surrounding area.
Right in the middle of the forest, the smell of resin has replaced that of the vineyards. From now on, lakes, greenery and the shade of the maritime pines take center stage! Maritime pine was introduced to the Landes during the 18th century to fix the dunes and clean up the swampy soils.
Overnight in Barp or Salles subject to availability.
Last day biking inland before reaching the Atlantic coastline. This time, it’s the smell of salt that will accompany you during the day as you journey between the Teich Ornithological Park and the Arcachon basin. The perfect moment to enjoy some oysters and a glass of good white wine!
Today you will head north from Arcachon to Cap Ferret. Load your bike onto the boat for a trip across the bay. Beautiful villas, imposing lighthouses and small oyster huts will punctuate your day. Be careful to not miss the last boat!
This last day includes the obligatory visit to the Dune of Pilat, Europe’s last living dune. If you’re feeling adventurous, climb up the 117 meters of fine sand without using the stairs. An alternative itinerary to the Leyre Delta is also a possibility.
Departure after breakfast.

The Bordeaux vineyards offer a wide varieties of wines, from the most tannic to the sweetest. It includes several regions (Médoc, Blayais, Libournais, Entre-deux-Mers, Graves) and different appellations (Saint-Estephe, Pauillac, Margaux, Cerons, Barsac, Sauternais…).
There are numerous grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec for the reds and Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle for the white wines.
