After you check-in at your hotel, take time to wander around the city center of Dijon. One of our representatives will meet up with you to give you your travel booklet and other useful information. Overnight at the hotel.
You will enjoy a lovely walk between Dijon and Gevrey-Chambertin, along the Route des Grands Crus. Don’t miss Marsannay-la-Côte and its museum showcasing life in the vineyards, or Chenôve and its Cuverie des Ducs de Bourgogne, which houses two magnificent 13th-century presses. In Gevrey-Chambertin, you can visit the 10th century fortress. Overnight in Gevrey-Chambertin.
After breakfast, direction the south. After crossing a succession of hills and valleys dotted with vineyards, you will go through Vougeot, a charming village known for its wine and for the Château du Clos de Vougeot. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a wine tasting in a local winery. Overnight in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Today’s route will take you higher, on slopes covered with vineyards via the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. The landscape is charming with beautiful views over the valley. Go through the village of Villers-la-Faye and its 11th century church, then Magny-les-Villers. As you descend towards the Côte de Beaune, you will reach Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe Corton, one of the most picturesque villages in the region. The latter is known for its Corton-Charlemagne white wine, one of the best in Burgundy. Finally, you will arrive in the magical town of Beaune, with its medieval charm, home of the Hospices of Beaune. Overnight in Beaune.
Leaving Beaune you will follow the River Bouzaize towards the first Grands Crus vineyards in Pommard. This renowned village nestles tightly around a squared steeple church. The world-renowned wines of this village are of an exceptional quality. Continuing your journey, you will pass through Volnay and Monthélie, which has a 12th century Romanesque church, and Auxey-Duresses, a small village in a picturesque valley. Each of these villages produce their own red and white wines: unique, elegant and refined. As you climb the final hill, draped in vineyards, you will arrive in Meursault, a charming village renowned for its exquisite white wines.
