Your itinerary

    Arrival in Reims

    Arrival in Reims, capital of the Champagne region. Wander around the vity before you head up to one of the many restaurants of the city.
    Overnight in your hotel.

    Reims- Matougues

    Distance : ~50km

    After breakfast, you will leave by bike for Epernay, passing through typical villages of the “Montagne de Reims” vineyards: Mailly-Champagne, Verzenay, Bouzy…

    Arrival in Matougues at the end of the day.

    Overnight in Matougues or  Châlons-en-Champagne, subject to availability.

    Matougues - Epernay

    Distance : ~29km

    After breakfast, a  leisurely stroll along the Marne canal will take you to Epernay. You will have some time in the afternoon to explore the capital of champagne wines, Epernay, and maybe even visit some of the most impressive cellars.

    Marne Valley Loop tour

    Distance : ~35km

    After breakfast you will set off in the footsteps of Dom-Perignon to Hautvillers. Discover the town with its church and the gravestones of Dom-Perignon and Dom-Ruinart. Your tour continues via Cumières, Damery and Boursault before returning to Epernay. Overnight in a charming B&B in Epernay.

    Epernay - Côte des Blancs loop

    Distance : ~35km

    Today, you will visit the vineyards of the Côte de Blancs, the birthplace of the chardonnay grape. Follow the Route de Champagne to Pierry, where you can visit its 18th century chateau as well as its wine cellars. After Cuis and its superb Romanesque church, the path takes you close to the cliffs to reach Cramant, where you can discover its oversized bottle (8m50). Not far away is the small village of Avize, where frescos adorn the walls. You will return to Epernay in the afternoon.

    Epernay - Reims

    Distance : ~45km

    After breakfast, direction the forests of Hautvillers, passing through Avenay Val d’Or and Germaine. You will return to Reims via the village of Ludes. Overnight in Reims.

THE VINEYARD

The Champagne vineyards are  located in northeastern France, in the region Champagne-Ardenne, stretching over  34 000 hectares and comprising 319 towns.

The Champagne vineyards are divided into four 4 main areas:

  • Montagne de Reims: to the south of Reims, famous for its chardonnay white wines.
  • Marne Valley: located to the south-west of Epernay,  known for its pinot noir red wines.
  • The Côte des Blancs: to the south-west of Reims,this region is famous for its chardonnay white wines.
  • The Côte des Bar: located to the southeast of Epernay,  known for its pinot noir red wines.

OPTIONAL
