You like hiking and discovering gourmet French products? This mid-week (from Monday to Friday) in the Burgundy vineyards is made for you! Walk through the vineyards’ fields, that you are familiar with the names: Gevrey Chambertin, Chambolle Musigny, Vougeot … and discover the local products: wine, but also truffles, cheeses and cassis or other red fruit specialities.

Program

Day 1 – Monday – Arrival

Arrival of participants, on their own, in Dijon. Check in the hotel in the very center of Dijon. Delivery of the road book, maps and tourist brochures. Overnight stay at Hotel.

DAY 2 Dijon – Gevrey-Chambertin (16km)

Lovely day from Dijon to Gevrey-Chambertin through the vineyards, you will be following the Route de Grands Crus. In Brochon you will be invited to visit the manufacture of raw milk cheeses. An assortment of five cheeses will be offered as an introduction to the strong flavors of Burgundy. Overnight stay in Gevrey Chambertin.

DAY 3 Gevrey Chambertin – Nuit St Georges (14km)

After breakfast you will depart on foot southbound. After a succession of valleys dotted with vineyards, you will arrive in Vougeot, the charming village famous for its wine and Chateau du Clos Vougeot. A tasting of wines in a local wine estate will be organized for you. Overnight stay in Nuit St Georges.

DAY 4 – Nuit St Georges – Nuit St Georges (~24km or 13km)

Today you will go along the way of ‘Le Haut de Vergy’ to discover first the red fruit farm. Let yourself tell the story of the little black berry, so important in the Burgundian tradition … Comparison of aromas, without or with different percentages of alcohol, you will learn how with a little patience and a lot of passion, blackcurrants are processed to provide the best liquor. On the way back, you will be expected inVosne Romanée. You will discover the Terroirs of Vosne-Romanée and go for a search of the Burgundy Truffle with the dogs. On your return, you will be offered a tasting of 5 wines including Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru and a wine over 10 years old. Return to Vougeot at the end of the afternoon. Back to Nuit St Georges late afternoon. Overnight stay in Nuit St Georges.

Day 5 – departure

Possibility to return to Dijon by train.

How to get in Dijon?

Getting to Dijon by train: Dijon Métropole is the destination of many daily TGV links and makes Paris 1h30, Lille 3h or Zurich 2h30 range!

Coming to Dijon by car: 3 hours from Paris (via the A6), less than 5 hours from Lille and Belgium (A26), less than 3 hours from Metz and Luxembourg (A31) and Switzerland (A40 / A39).

Arrive in Dijon during the day time to make the most of your time in the beautiful city. Let us know you arrival plans so we can organize check-in times at the hotel.
