Gastronomy and wines are the reputation of Alsace.Today this region has an additional asset, its exceptional infrastructure of bike paths, which has made it the most beautiful bike destination in France. From Strasbourg to Colmar, typical villages and quiet paths through the vineyard will let you discover an exceptional nature, where tradition and history knew how to continue.

Program

Day 1: Arrival in Strasbourg:

Check in at the hotel and visit of the city. We advise you: the Cathedral, the European Institutions passing by the picturesque districts, like that of Petite France.

Day 2: Strasbourg – Obernai Region ≈ 40 km

The Bruche Canal was once used to transport wine from the vineyards to the capital of Strasbourg. Today the bike path runs along the Strasbourg canal in Molsheim. You will pass by the XII century Church of Rosheim, before arriving in Obernai or Barr.

Day 3: Obernai region – Riquewihr region ≈ 50 km

On tarmac roads, you will cross the vineyards and villages with half-timbered houses where the geraniums flourish. Mittelbergheim, Dambach, Ribeauvillé, and Riquewihr are among the most beautiful villages in France.

Day 4: Riquewihr – Colmar Region ≈ 39 km

The Wine Route and its series of charming  villages will take you from the vineyard to the wine and art capital of Alsace. Turckheim and Eguisheim will conclude your discovery of Alsace like a postcard. Overnight in Colmar, city of the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty, Bartholdi, or the painters of genius Martin Schoengauer and Matthias Grünewald.

Day 5: Departure

Departure or extension of your stay.

(On Sundays there is no briefing on arrival at the hotel, travel documents are handed out by the hotel receptionist.)
Possible arrival by train in Strasbourg station
Arrival by plane to Strasbourg airport, shuttle to the train station, taxi to hotels.
Other nearby airports: Mulhouse / Bale approx. 120 km, Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden approx. 60km.
